BEAT THAT
Beat That is a women's drumming band from Scotland. They play rootsy African rhythms and sassy South American sounds - a cultural melting pot. The instruments reflect a classic Brazilian samba line-up. "The band has been performing since six of the founding members drummed at a multi-cultural festival in 1992. Since then, Beat That has led processions and starred in festivals and events across the UK, in Dublin and Amdsterdam. They appeared live on Dutch TV and led Millennium celebrations at Stirling Castle in their home town, an event broadcast across the world on 1 January 2000." Pics attached. Below are short descriptions of each. Erin: "Erin Scrutton is the musical director and leader of the band. An accomplished musician, she regularly works with artists at an international level."
